Confused with administration default settings

Hi,
Using ulisting-1.0.505, the administration screen for Default Settings reads

These are default settings when users are filling in a new listing form.

I am not sure if this is correct? Fields Lock location, Country and Prov/State and Thumbs per page seem to apply to the input form.

Default Listing Category, Default Listing Type Default Search Region seem to apply to the search forms.

This had me confused for a while as, once set, default values were not reflecting on the input form and regions is a select list the values created within taxonomy and not a textbox as the administration screen indicates
The default value to place in the region textbox. Recommend entering a city name.

This was made more confusing because initially I had no regions set in taxonomy. The input form Listing Type, Property Type, Listing Status and Listing Category reflected default values other than '-Please Choose-' but not those values set in the administration screen. Once adding regions within taxonomy, '-Please choose-' was reflected in the aforementioned boxes.
